ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4: Kerry Washington on her singing aspirations (video)
Is Olivia Pope about to start belting out some oldies on “Scandal“? Don’t count on that. While “Grey’s Anatomy” somehow managed to have a musical episode, it seems very unlikely given the tone of Shonda Rhimes’ other major hit on ABC.
However, Kerry Washington does have a pretty funny story about her history in singing, and she explained it during an appearance on this past episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (which has of course been a very friendly place for “Scandal” stars over the years).
Specifically, she discussed how during her time at the prestigious Spence School in New York City, she wanted to become the president of the singing group Triple Trio after a woman named Gwyneth Paltrow previously held the title. However, Paltrow was a little older than Kerry, so the two were never actually in the group together. (If nothing else, this story is a good commercial for Spence School since their graduates clearly go on to do great things at least some of the time.)
After some time to grow accustomed to motherhood over the course of the summer, Kerry is now back into the swing of things at work. “Scandal” began filming its fourth season in late July in Los Angeles, and there are of course many who want to know what happens with Olivia now that she hopped aboard that flight with Jake. Just as Rhimes explained, though, in another recent video from ABC, nobody’s saying anything right now. She’s really working that strict “no spoilers” policy like the network version of “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner.
We’ll have some more news on both Kerry and “Scandal” soon, so be sure to keep a lookout for that. Also, you can sign up in the event that you want to grab some further updates on all we cover via our newsletter.
