ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: ‘The Newsroom,’ ‘Hart of Dixie’ alum cast

“Scandal” is starting to get its massive guest cast together for the season 4 premiere, but in true fashion, you’re really not getting too many opportunities to learn about finer details.

What we can say for the time being is this. According to a new story from The Hollywood Reporter, Kelen Coleman (whose credits include guest spots on “The Newsroom” and “Hart of Dixie“) is going to be appearing in the season 4 premiere … in of course an unknown role.

Coleman joins a guest cast that does include a pretty big name in Portia de Rossi. We know that she is actually set for a multiple-episode arc, but Shonda Rhimes is being extremely hush-hush about this role.

So why all of the secrecy? We may attribute some of it to the currently-unknown status of a certain Olivia Pope. The show most likely does not want to give too much away for the time being that could eventually lead to them revealing where Kerry Washington’s character is, and what she is up to. All we can say is that at the end of the finale this past spring, she hopped aboard a plane with Jake to an unknown destination after watching election day dissolve into complete chaos. While Fitz has been re-elected to the office of President, it did come with some significant consequences (namely a death in the family).

While you may still be waiting for two months until the show’s September 25 return, the one thing that we can tell you is this: It’ll most-likely be worth it.
