‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 spoilers: Charlie Humman on Jax embracing a darker side
At one point during the run of “Sons of Anarchy,” it at least feels as though Jax Teller did everything that he could to find some sort of redemption or an escape. But what happens when you go so far down the rabbit hole that you can no longer climb up? This is one of the questions that may be answered when the seventh season premieres on FX September 9.
Even though Charlie Hunnam was not in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month, he did pass along a pretty cryptic tease to TV Guide about just how his character could ultimately embrace his dark side in these final episodes:
“Jax was always so tortured by the pull of who he thought he should be … There’s something really liberating about being rid of the sense of having to be a good guy. This is about Jax deciding, if he’s got no reason to leave [the outlaw world], he may as well be what this world demands you be.”
In other words, expect things to hit the fan quickly. Jax is going to have some harsh words and potentially serious wounds for those responsible for killing Tara … or at least who he believes to be the responsible parties. As a matter of fact, the new season is basically going to begin with him taking part in a beatdown behind bars.
None of this information sounds good for Jax potentially finding a way to survive at the end of the reason, but we do probably agree with many other there who feel right now like too much emphasis is being put on whether or not he lives or dies. This show is more about the journey, and it has definitely been a crazy one so far.
