‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: The debate for Justin Chambers’ Alex
Over the past two seasons, the arrival of the Jo character has made a big difference for Alex’s story on “Grey’s Anatomy,” and we’ve become so much more invested into his role and his story than we were for a long time prior to this.
With that being said, is it possible for him to keep this level of momentum up? That’s what we are interested in seeing in the new season, and so far, signs are good. Speaking to TV Guide, Shonda Rhimes says the offer Cristina made to him at the end of season 10 is going to be one of many things that weigh on him heavily moving forward:
“His responsibilities and who he’s becoming because Cristina has left him these shares and a seat on a board — does he want that? Is that what he’s looking for? Did he want the money grab that Dr. Butthole provided him or does he want to be the guy who has a seat on the board? That is a big deal for him to figure out what he wants.”
We did laugh when Rhimes said “Dr. Butthole,” and it’s easy to understand why thanks to last season. Whatever Alex decides here, we just hope that it puts him in a little bit of a happier place. After all, this guy was mostly occupied last year dealing with the likes of his estranged father, stress related to a job, and whether he was going to self-sabotage his own relationship without thinking about it. At least for now, he has cleared some of these hurdles.
