‘Community’ season 6: Dan Harmon on Yahoo move and more at Comic-Con
The “Community” panel took place on Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con, and while there were many changes to the show in the past year, the panel was in the end still much the same as it once was.
The biggest shift for the entire show is that it will not be broadcast on Yahoo Screen rather than previous home NBC, which canceled it around the time of May sweeps. This was a streaming suitor that emerged almost out of nowhere after the Hulu deal fell apart, or at least this is what many believed given that there were few headlines about it.
For show creator Dan Harmon, what is clearly the most important thing to him (at least for right now) is that the series basically maintains the same level of “awesome” that it always have, even if it is now in a new home:
“The Community that [fans] recognize needs to be there … My philosophy is [to] attempt to make the same show, and let the lack of boundaries make themselves felt. I don’t want to take the wheels off so much that people think, ‘This is a new show.’”
Given that filming for the new season will not start until fall, you will most likely not see these episodes air until 2015. Our major question, at least for now, is who the cast is going to have an opportunity to get on board. You obviously have all of the series regulars, but Jonathan Banks now has “Better Call Saul,” while John Oliver has “Last Week Tonight.” At most, we can only see them doing some small appearances.
While this panel was not spoiler-heavy, save for Harmon saying that he is still not that interested in creating romantic pairings among the cast that last for a long time, it was a nice chance to see the Greendale gang back together again. You can see the full video of the panel below.

What the hell is Yahoo Screen? They should have just cancelled the show completely rather than putting it on a platform that nobody accesses or is able to access.
