ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: See Nathan Fillion talk Comic-Con, more
Are there bigger Comic-Con heroes out there than Nathan Fillion? We don’t know if there’s a single person we can ever identify as the sole champion of the convention, but he is certainly near the top of the list. He had “Firefly,” he’s done “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog,” and while “Castle” is not a Comic-Con staple by any means, it has been to San Diego in the past.
Given his status as convention royalty, it only makes sense that The Hollywood Reporter would feature him as William Shatner’s James T. Kirk during their annual Comic-Con issue. He also explained what it is that he enjoys about going to each one of these conventions in the first place:
“I love being in front of a big group of people who are already super-excited; their adrenaline’s flowing. There’s a really positive wavelength of energy. And then they laugh at my crappiest jokes. For me, that’s Comic-Con.”
Fillion has become a staple of this circuit that goes far beyond San Diego, as he has appeared at a variety of other conventions across the United States and Canada. “Firefly” is still a popular topic of conversation despite being many years old, but he is often still asked just as much about the sci-fi genre in general, “Castle,” or his thoughts on random subjects.
Fillion will be Comic-Con once again this year, and you can see him specifically as a guest for Nerd HQ’s ConCast. There are probably a number of other places where you can inevitably see him over the course of the convention. We’re going to be there, as well, covering one of our other favorite industry shows at the moment in “Hannibal.”
