‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: Regina King returns as Janine Davis!
Janine Davis is one of our favorite recurring characters that we’ve seen on “The Big Bang Theory” over the years. She takes almost no lip from anyone, and she has also has a great comic delivery. The only thing that has continually surprised us about her is the pretty shocking side that she brings out of Sheldon.
In the end, we’re thrilled to learn that she is returning. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Regina King will be back for at least one season 8 episode as the character, who works in HR at the college where all of our male characters work. Part of the reason for her being there may have to be due to Sheldon’s sudden departure on a train at the end of season 7. The guy just up and leaves work after he realizes that he cannot change his focus from string theory, and he realizes that he needs to do something for himself for a change. Don’t you think that the employer would have some sort of response to that?
This is actually the first major casting news that we’ve had for the new season of the show, with there still being a little bit of uncertainty right now over whether or not filming will start at the time it was originally planned. The cast of the show has still not signed up for season 8, and some of them (including Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco) are seeking almost $1 million an episode. We’ll probably hear a little bit more when it comes to the story and the guest cast a little later once these deals are just about official.
