‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5, episode 7 review: A Pam Fields mystery; Hanna, Caleb get close

Pretty Little Liars -Pretty Little Liars” does have a tendency from time to time to be mired in stories that don’t really matter. For at least a portion of Tuesday night’s “The Silence of E. Lamb,” we wondered if that was happening with Sydney, and also all the time spent with Spencer and Melissa where it took a long time for the two to really get anywhere.

But with that being said, we do feel like this Sydney is up to no good. For a newbie in Rosewood, the girl has some serious ax to grind. Hanna also just gave her a little more information than she really needed to … namely that she was in New York. We know now that the setting is starting to shift a little bit for where these girls were at the night that Shana died, and this could be big trouble down the line.

Also, Emily’s mom decided that she was going to play matchmaker for some reason when it comes to Alison, reminding her that she is still lying about her kidnapping story. Meanwhile, Hanna recovered from a drunken meltdown and giving way information enough to have a heart-to-heart with Caleb, and try to figure out what he wants and where he stands. They kissed! Well, that didn’t take too long.

This episode really did not pay off a whole lot, other than that Eddie Lamb is now apparently missing, Ali is keeping yet another secret, and Hanna’s really screwed things up now by giving Sydney more information than she needed. Expect insanity ahead, but we wish that there was more of it that took place tonight.

The biggest shock was the cliffhanger, which suggests that Emily Fields’ mom Pam is in big trouble. Grade: C+.
