‘MasterChef’ season 5, episode 10 preview: Is Ahran vs. Leslie, round 2 near?

The first time that we saw a Team Challenge with Ahran and Leslie on “MasterChef,” it was a complete trainwreck of drama and hilarity as they stumbled through communicating … and Leslie stumbled with pronunciation.

Are we about to see that all over again? It’s possible, since Ahran is a Team Captain, and after the two did so well in their duo competition a week ago, we could see them teaming up again. While Leslie is a talented cook, it seems like he should have an apron that says “does not work well in groups.” The moment that he gets in one of these challenges, he often crumbles.

From an entertainment standpoint, we hope that this happens. From a game standpoint, we hope both do well and advance in this “MasterChef Romantic Dinner” task. There are clearly some weaker people in the competition who need to go sooner, and we’re mostly looking at Cutter. The only thing that has routinely saved the guy is that week in and week out, someone on the show has been marginally worse than him, and the judges don’t send someone how strictly on the basis of them having a terrible attitude. If they did, you figure he would have said his goodbye a long time ago.

Right now, Courtney and Christian have to be two of the favorites based strictly on their performance. However, we’re not ruling out Elizabeth or even Ahran right now, given that they have also done well. Big Willie is a dark horse, at least if he can pull himself together after tonight.
