‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Lucy Lawless scores significant role

Call this a gift from the genre TV gods. Given her work on “Xena: Warrior Princess,” there are many out there who probably already consider Lucy Lawless to be a hero in some right. Now, she can also celebrate being someone surrounded by heroes on Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD.”

According to a new report now from TV Guide, Lawless is going to recur heavily on the upcoming second season, but in a role that the powers that be over at ABC are not exactly keen on sharing for the time being. This shouldn’t come as some big jaw-dropping shocker, given that this is mostly the philosophy that the network by and large employs for the majority of news related to this show.

Still, the idea of Lawless joining suggests that producers have big plans for her. You don’t cast a big name without them, and the interesting thing about this show in particular is that they have by and large tried to stay away from familiar faces, opting instead for either people you already know from the movies, or those who can be lost within their current roles.

This is just the beginning when it comes to “Agents of SHIELD” scoop, though. With filming now just starting to be underway, we have a feeling that there will be so much more related to the show coming up in the near future. Stay tuned!
