‘Family Guy’ meets ‘The Simpsons’: See the first photo of crossover now!
The upcoming crossover event for “Family Guy” and “The Simpsons” is either going to be one of the greatest things in the history of both shows, or an eyesore so terrible that nobody speaks of it again. There is no middle ground.
Well, we’ve at least seen the first photo now for the event, and that probably serves the exact purpose Fox wants it to: Getting people ridiculously excited. In theory, we understand all of this. These shows are two of the most successful animated comedies in the history of network TV, and of course combining them should lead to some great results! Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson together is a disaster waiting to happen, and we can’t wait to see how Stewie manages to responds to being around Maggie.
The one thing that we’re feeling pretty sure of is that the ratings for this are going to be enormous. We feel like both of these shows firmly qualify as those that you don’t watch all the time, but choose to check out here and there whenever you get a chance to do so. Whenever there is a big event is when viewers start to tune in. “Family Guy” got a ratings bump after they temporarily killed Brian the dog, and we saw what “The Simpsons Movie” managed to pull in at the box office. This all suggests big things for this special, and with the timing of it, they can most-likely cash in again by releasing it on TV just in time for the holiday season.
Based on just this one photo alone, are you more or less excited about the special than you were previously? Sound off in the comments.
