‘MasterChef’ season 5, episode 9 preview: The king of all salmon

There is nothing that is more of a “MasterChef” staple at this point than listening to both Chef Gordon Ramsay and the contestants going on and on about how “incredible” a food product is. In this case, we are at least happy that they are not doing it about food you can buy at Walmart like in past seasons.

Instead, the video from Monday night’s Mystery Box Challenge shows that all of the remaining home hooks are going to be taking on the daunting challenge of trying to make a perfect dish using a very pristine sort of salmon that you cannot buy at any ordinary grocery store. We imagine that this will be a culinary clash of the titans as these home cooks do everything in their power to make this into something interesting.

However, there’s going to be another enormous challenge added on top of this that the preview doesn’t even show. Based on what we saw at the end of this past episode, they are going to have to compete against Gordon Ramsay himself. We definitely do not envy anyone who is put into this position, given that there is really no doubting what he is capable of in the kitchen. Also, nobody in there is probably going to come close to what he does.

As for who we expect to struggle throughout this, we are throwing an early prediction behind anyone who does not have a whole lot of experience cutting meat … or just vegetarians in general. There’s always one contestant every season who has to wing it when it comes to proteins.
