‘Ray Donovan’ season 2, episode 2 preview: Abby, Ray, and more secrets exposed

To us on “Ray Donovan,” the most surprising thing is simply the fact that Ray continues to be married at all. This is a guy who’s done some terrible things, and in the process has drug Abby and his children through it all, as well.

In this sneak peek below from Sunday’s episode, we see a situation that we’ve watched play out on this show in many forms already. Ray’s wife confronts him about a potential secret that he has been keeping from her, and she claims that she won’t stand for it anymore. As a matter of fact, she accuses him of not fighting to save the marriage. His response? That he didn’t think the marriage was at a point where it needed to be saved.

Here’s a friendly not to everyone out there: If your significant other says something to you like Abby says to Ray, do not respond like Ray does, unless you are extremely sadistic and you just want to see your relationship fall apart. Somehow, we have a feeling that he is going to work this out and get his atonement (he almost always does), but we continue to be shocked by him the vast majority of the time how he gets away with as much as he does.

There are also going to be many other problems for Ray throughout this episode, in particular as a reporter starts to sniff around and realize that there could be much more going on with Mickey and a certain FBI head than what is being put out there.
