‘Bachelor in Paradise’ spoilers: See Marquel Martin, Sarah Herron, cast in new photo

We have our first look at “Bachelor in Paradise,” and it is probably what you expected almost verbatim. There are men and women on the beach trying to impress each other, and there will also probably be a million or so shenanigans that happen as a result.

The few observations that we can make from this are pretty simple, and also occasionally hilarious:

• What’s with one of the ladies being in a very different state of undress than the others? Did she just come in from the ocean? This photo is supposedly the cast photo, so we’ll just have to take it as it is.
• We love Marquel Martin’s hat more than words. It somehow seriously makes him even more Marquel than he was previously. Also, we appreciate him for not desperately trying to show the world that he has abs like some of these other guys are.
• What’s with the sandy feet? We’ve been on dozens of beaches in our lifetime, and we can guarantee that our feet have never looked like that. This, “Bachelor in Paradise” producers, is visual overkill.
• The one thing that we can at least say is that producers really are trying to class this show up a little, given the “Bachelor Pad” photos always looked like a combination of Vegas pool party and also men’s magazine photoshoot (at least for the ladies; the guys looked like Men’s Health).

The show will be premiering on Monday, August 4, so there is really not a whole lot of time to prepare yourself for what sort of enormous trainwreck lies around every turn.
