‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Is a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ tie-in possible?

The big show -While we’ve already gone on the record in saying that we’re glad that “Arrow” and “The Flash” are not going to be in the same universe as the feature films, we also understand why Marvel chose to do it with “Agents of SHIELD.” They know that they have a huge property here, and SHIELD had already appeared in the films before the TV show started. Ultimately, it would be hard for the show to really be that separate because of it.

So you know that the show will most likely continue to connect to some of the upcoming feature films, but the interesting thing about this year is that there is nothing coming that will devastate SHIELD like in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” After all, the next chapter of “The Avengers” is not until next summer.

However, that does not mean that producers will be ignoring anything and everything related to the movie franchise, given that there is “Guardians of the Galaxy” coming out (even if the era may be somewhat different), and there is also “Agent Carter” looming later at midseason. There are at least things that the show may consider references to, as executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen said to IGN:

It’s a very cool opportunity that we have. Marvel, their whole thing is “It’s all connected.” Do we connect with Carter? Do we connect with Guardians? Do we connect with anything else coming up? So, you know…”

We’re always down at this point for more lines and stories that connect the shows to movies, at least so long as it makes sense. Don’t do a story for the sake of just doing it.
