‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4 spoilers: No end just yet; also, a Rachel Bilson surprise
For those out there thinking that “Hart of Dixie” season 4 was getting the “Nikita” or “Gossip Girl” treatment, where the show is just being given a limited run in order to wrap up the series, think again. As CW head Mark Pedowitz told the crowd of reporters yesterday at TCA, this is not what is happening here at all.
Rather, Pedowitz assured all of us that they are doing the ten episodes this year, and then they are “looking forward to seeing what happens.” We still feel like there is a motivation to do a 13-episode season 5, given that this would put them past the threshold necessary for syndication. Also, it gives the cast a job, while also still time to do some other things.
The headline from this event perhaps more than anything, though, was the revelation that “[executive producer] Leila Gerstein is planning to have a pregnancy eventually happen to the character of Zoe Hart.” This means that unlike Jaime King, Rachel Bilson’s pregnancy could actually be written into the show. In this instance, we understand it. Seeing Zoe try to raise a kid could be a source of great comedy, especially if this kid is with Wade. Also, this is not a story that has been overplayed on the show, and there would still be enough going on around them that the whole “kid story” would not overly dominate the show. You still have George, Lemon, Lavon, and AnnaBeth to think about as other characters in the mix.
Now, though, is the time we turn to you: What do you think about the idea of having Zoe pregnant on the show this coming season, and do you think this is the right sort of shake-up for the series? Share below, and also head over here to grab some additional TV updates via our newsletter.

I think this is a brilliant idea. Just imagine Zoe’s mum and Wade’s dad as grand-parents. I also think that we had enough of the falling in and out of love and a little more adult-responsibility or Zoe and Wade is more than welcome. Wade and Zoe grew through each other. Their love story with the whole lake between their houses and the generator thing was meant to be from the start. George and Zoe have zero chemistry and I am glad they are just friends. Actually I still like George for Lemon.

Oh please! The ratings for Hart of Dixie were dismal last year and adding a baby will only make them worse! Of course, the show is ending – they just don’t want to say it’s ending because Americans don’t watch shows that don’t do well!

Hart of Dixie ended for me when the show decided not to truly explore a relationship between Zoe and George! Yes, Zoe and Wade developed quite a fan following but they were given a real relationship to play while Zoe and George never had that chance and yet Zeorge still had fans! I won’t be watching Hart of Dixie this year because there I have zero desire to see Zade! RIP Dixie!
