‘Supernatural’ season 10: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles not envisioning the end

Check it out -There’s no real reason to worry about “Supernatural” coming to an end in the immediate future, at least so long as the ratings stay solid and Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles hold the philosophy that they had promoting the show on Friday at TCA.

In proving yet again how much the two truly care about this show, the fans, and these characters of Sam and Dean, they showed zero interest in having season 10 be the end. Jared specifically said to reporters that he loves playing Sam, but he also feels like he knows when it will be time to say goodbye:

“I truly do deeply care about the show and about Sam Winchester… I spent nine years of my life with him, and so I don’t want him to be broken down and beaten down into something that I end up not respecting … I think we know the show enough, our characters enough, that if there’s an end coming, I think we’ll all see it and we don’t have to push it to the ‘I Love L.A.’ levels. I’ve got some kids now and a wife. I love my personal life very, very much and when it’s time to hang up the Sam Winchester hat, I’ll welcome that chapter.”

Just hearing the quote from Jensen makes us smile:

“I think we’re all on the same page. We still get excited by it and I think that that hasn’t tarnished in 10 years. And I remember getting the last script of Season 9, and I got all giddy about it. I was excited to see what happens in Season 10. I think as long as there’s that fulfillment, that enjoyment, that excitement, then yeah, we will keep going, as long as people are hanging in with us and are still entertained. We love these stories.”

Jensen is getting some of the best material we’ve seen in a while with the whole “Demon Dean” storyline, and we hope that this is something that continues for him quite a while into the future. We know at least that the show will be giving the story much more than a single episode, and it could take a while for the Dean of old to completely return.
