‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ preview: Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga’s tough Christmas
With the shadow of Teresa Giudice’s legal problems following her almost everywhere so far on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” it already feels like a very different season of the show than anything that we’ve seen so far. There’s less of her and Melissa Gorga fighting to keep the family together, and more of them dealing with actual stress that could change the lives of everyone.
The fact that all of this is happening right around Christmas time could make it even more depressing than it probably already is, which is something that you’ll see on Sunday night’s new episode. The promo video alone at least features some of the family trying to keep things together with a gift exchange; not only that, but there is also the return of Kathy Wakile and Rosie to the show for the first time this year.
Some more of the sadness within this episode is going to come a little elsewhere, as evidenced in the official synopsis below:
“Melissa tries to keep Christmas traditions alive, despite living in a rental home, while Dina feels more alone than ever as her daughter applies for college. Amber becomes consumed with home safety, while Teresa Aprea decides it’s time for her son to join the family empire.Teresa Giudice’s legal woes hang heavy over her family’s head as she struggles to keep things normal for her girls.”
The reason that this season may be hard for some to stomach is simply the fact that all of this is actual still going on right now in real life. We feel for the families involved, and while we hate the exploitation of it in such a way, this also does elevate our interest in a show that had become stale and repetitive the past two years.
