‘True Blood’ season 7: Who just scored major ‘Daredevil’ gig?
One of the stars of “True Blood” has just landed their first major gigs following the end of the show … and this is one that we are particularly interested in seeing.
Sources confirm that Deborah Ann Woll, who you know well from her work as Jessica Hamby on every season of the HBO show, has landed the extremely-coveted role of Karen Page on the upcoming Netflix version of “Daredevil.” She is one of the longtime loves of hero Matt Murdock in the comics, and is supposed to be the female lead in the show itself.
This entire series is going to be extremely ambitious, since Marvel has yet to produce anything quite like this for the streaming service; also, the last time that we saw Daredevil in any sort of pop culture, the majority of people hated the movie starring Ben Affleck. (He’s looking to have some better luck right now as Batman.)
For now, what we know is that we love the casting of Woll given that this is a very different role than what she played on “True Blood” for many years. What’s also eerily interesting about this casting is that Woll’s real-life boyfriend EJ Scott has been battling blindness for many years.
So when could you expect to see this show actually come on the air? The only thing that we can tell you for now is that it’s still going to be a while, thanks mostly to the fact that “True Blood” production just ended and that filming here has yet to even begin. We feel like late 2015 is a possibility, but we’ll just have to wait and see. If nothing else, it being Netflix does suggest to us that it will be of at least a reasonable quality.
What do you think of this casting? Let us know.
