‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8: CBS head predicts resolution with contract talks
While there were headlines all across the TV world yesterday with the announcement that the cast of “The Big Bang Theory” still has not signed on for another season, CBS programming head Nina Tassler seems to be very interested in pressing one thing: There’s nothing for you to worry about if you’re a fan of the show.
While at the TCA Summer Press Tour today, Tassler claimed that she was “very confident” that there would be some sort of proper resolution when it comes to negotiations, which are ongoing with the five original cast members. As we reported yesterday, Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, and Johnny Galecki are all negotiating together and seeking near $1 million an episode, while Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg are also negotiating together for a salary bump of their own.
Cast table reads are set to begin at the end of July, but for the time being, we would agree with Tassler that there is no reason to fret. The cast all seem to be devoted to the series, and are well aware of the impact that it makes on their own lives. While we imagine that it may be hard sometimes to go out without quotes being yelled at you, the show has a nice production schedule, pays extremely well, and seems to be a fun environment overall. If there was any real danger of something not working out, you would have been hearing stories about planned walkouts or something of the variety. The fact that the entire cast has kept silent through the process proves that they are serious about getting a deal done rather than generating publicity on the subject.
We’ll have some more updates on the show as they become available, but for now, don’t get yourself too worked up! You can also sign up to get some other news and updates via our newsletter.

I think that a deal will get done for all the reasons stated above. These actors seem to like each other and they have a good level of professionalism. I love the cast and the show.

They sure could get rid of Kaley Cuoco. She’s not funny at all. Why only three going for a million? I think they all deserve the same salary, except for Kaley.
