‘Suits’ season 4, episode 5 review: Louis, Donna do Shakespeare in ‘Pound of Flesh’
While we understand that there were some pretty serious stuff that took place on “Suits” season 4 Wednesday night, we also cannot get over how amazing some of the stuff that Donna and Louis Litt got to do was. This may actually be one of our favorite subplots in the entire history of the series.
The entire story was all around Shakespeare, and how the two came to one another’s rescue to make sure that a production of “The Merchant of Venice” featuring Donna became a success. He helped her with her lines, and then he ended up joining the production at the last minute, overcoming some of his stage fright in the process. Hilarious, awesome, and everything that we could want here and then some. We would’ve been happy if the entire episode was just these two.
As for the rest of “Pound of Flesh,” the biggest moment came when Jessica basically screwed over Harvey (and his trust), making sure that they stayed true to their clients and not some sort of handshake deal he had with Mike. The two had dinner together after finding out that Rachel was in the hospital, and while she was okay, this was a wake-up call of sorts.
We are obviously building to some huge things here, as Rachel is still dealing with the trauma of Logan Sanders, Harvey will be betraying Mike yet again after asking for his trust, and there are going to be many nasty battles ahead. We feel for Harvey right now going into next week’s episode, given that he knows that he screwed up when it comes to Mike and the takeover plan.
This was a very strong episode of “Suits” tonight, and after this, we’re more pumped for the future than ever. We also want a heck of a lot more Louis / Donna scenes in the weeks ahead. Grade: A-.
