‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8: Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, cast still without contracts
Is there a reason to worry about the cast of “The Big Bang Theory” not all being around together for the season 8 premiere? If nothing else, we at least know that there is nothing on paper right now.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, none of the show’s original cast (Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg) has officially inked a deal for the next season. Cuoco, Parsons, and Galecki are all reportedly looking to command close to $1 million an episode, which is a hefty sum that only Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher from “Two and a Half Men” are even near receiving right now.
While there has been little progress when it comes to contract negotiations right now, that doesn’t mean there is bad news for the start of production. The cast is expected to be on set around the time that they go back to work at the end of the month.
Given that the show was renewed recently until the end of season 10, we would not be shocked to see them all ink three-year deals that secure them a ton of money in the long-term. We understand the whole “famous people don’t need more money” argument and all, but at the same time, this show can afford it, and they are a huge reason for the monster ratings and syndication deals. If the studio is making more and more money off of the show, so should everyone else that is involved with it.
The only two regulars currently under contract are Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, who joined the show later in its run.

Let’s hope that a deal gets done.
