‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: Questions abound over Liz Keen’s mom

The Blacklist logo any seasonAre we getting a little closer to the conclusion of one big mystery on “The Blacklist”? It doesn’t sound like it; instead of firmly addressing whether or not Raymond Reddington is in fact Liz Keen’s father, we will be shifting to the maternal side of the family tree for at least the early portion of the season. Given that this has not really been addressed too much at all as of yet, we feel like this does make a good bit of sense.

In talking about this subject matter to TV Guide, show executive producer John Eisendrath looked at the matter from Liz’s perspective as she tries to continue to find some sort of answers on her life:

“If the part about my dad wasn’t true, what is the truth, if any, that I need to learn about my mom?”

Eisendrath also added here that in addition to this question, you can expect to see a little bit more of Berlin early in the new season. While they will not be the only villain that the show addresses, their role will continue to be a prominent one.

One final bit of news? Expect some sort of time jump when the new season begins. It’s not going to be a leap of several years or anything, but it may be enough time for Liz to start to adjust to whatever her new life is going to be without Tom constantly around.

What is your take on this news, at least for the time being? Share your thoughts with a comment.
