‘Doctor Who’ season 8 spoilers: Comic Sanjeev Bhaskar lands guest role
“Doctor Who” has been on a roll lately when it comes to their announcements, and it doesn’t quite look like that is slowing down anytime soon.
In a new statement, it was confirmed that comic / TV personality Sanjeev Bhaskar will guest star in one of the upcoming episodes for the series, which returns to BBC One and BBC America starting on Saturday, August 23. Unfortunately, there were not any details released about the role for the time being. We would assume that the role would be somewhat comedic, but then again, most of this show is as a whole.
In true BBC fashion, the network released two statements, both from Bhaskar along with executive producer / showrunner Steven Moffat.
- Bhaskar – “I’m thrilled to have made a small contribution to and now be part of the Doctor Who universe. Another dream box ticked!”
- Moffat – “I’m completely thrilled that Sanjeev Bhaskar is coming to the aid of the Doctor. The danger is never deadlier than in a finale episode, and the Time Lord is going to need all the help he can get!”
The guest cast for the time being for the series is truly eclectic, and it includes everyone from well-known performers to dramatists to even a musician in Foxes. The universe for this series is extremely complex, and it therefore should not come as much of a surprise that they would do the same sort of thing right now in regards to some of the people that they would bring on board.
This announcements comes not long after the first extended trailer for the new season was released. If you want to check that out, you can do so over at the link here.
