NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 7 spoilers: Gavin Rosdale to help wife Gwen Stefani

The latest -Here is some news related to “The Voice” that could be nepotism, but probably makes a good bit of sense anyway: Gavin Rosdale has been tapped as the adviser to Gwen Stefani’s team on the upcoming seventh season of the show.

As many out there are probably aware of already, Rosdale, the frontman for the band Bush, is going to be assisting her through the Battle Rounds of the competition. The two have worked together within the studio, but this is one of their first real collaborations outside of that.

In speaking about his new gig to “Access Hollywood,” Rosdale admitted that the entire booking happened almost on a whim:

“I don’t know how it came about, but it was just one of those things [where] the idea was mentioned – I wasn’t even sure who was mentioning it – and then it came around to, ‘So, next week you ready? You are gonna come and do this?’

“It’s a lot of pressure! These people like, I press my button because I thought they sounded good, and then I fight for them. You are in the moment and then they choose you, and it’s like wow, that’s their whole life right this moment! So I felt really responsible.”

We have said before many times that we don’t find the Battle Rounds to be particularly appealing, mostly because they are so unnatural and take way longer than they really need to. Having more famous cooks in the kitchen does not alleviate the concerns. Hopefully Gavin will at least be interesting, and help us get from one part of the competition to the next.
