TV Quick Hits: ‘The 100’ season 2, ‘Elementary’ season 3, and Pam Oliver news

“The 100” season 2 begins! – For those of you wondering when the surprise hit of the spring for The CW was going back into production, the answer to that is pretty simple: It already has! Despite premiere a little later than the majority of the other shows on the network (think late October), new episodes are already being put into the can.

This season is going to feature a whole lot more drama and intrigue, but also a larger story to tell to go along with it. There won’t be a full 22-episode order, but you can expect something that is a little longer than the standard 13 that we had for season 1.

“Elementary” scoop – Ready to see who is romancing Joan Watson now? Sources confirm that “Smash” alum Raza Jaffrey is going to recur in season 3 of the show as Andrew, a man who is hardly anything like Sherlock Holmes at all. He is calm, cool, and collected, and not down for some of the shenanigans that we see Sherlock pull to either solve cases or ensure that he gets what he needs to out of life.

Here is another fun fact to go along with this: Jaffrey is involved romantically with Lara Pulver in real life, and she plays Irene Adler on the BBC version of “Sherlock.”

Pam Oliver moved – For those who do follow the entertainment side of sports, we were bummed to hear today that longtime Fox sideline reporter Pam Oliver is being downgraded to the #2 broadcast team, while Erin Andrews will join Troy Aikman and Joe Buck moving forward on the high-profile NFL matches. Oliver has been doing this job for well over a decade, and is going to be leaving Fox Sports altogether at the end of this coming season.

While we’re not involved with the discussions or the politics of this sort of thing in any way, it feels to us almost like she is being penalized for being less famous, and for not making headlines for having Richard Sherman yell at her.
