‘Ray Donovan’ season 2, episode 1 preview: Ray meets James Cochran

Tomorrow night, fans of “Ray Donovan” have a reason to rejoice: The show is back on the air! It’s been a long summer, and in return for that waiting, you can feel content in knowing that the producers and writers are wasting approximately zero seconds in getting the action for the new season started up again.

In the sneak peek video below, you get your first complete look at James Cochran (Hank Azaria), a man who Ray is going to be spending a good bit of time trying to work around this season. He heads up the L.A. division of the FBI, and one other thing that we know about him right now is that being forgiving is not anywhere near the top of his coveted attributes. Instead, he is more of the tough-as-nails, no-nonsense variety, and will do what he needs to do in order to get answers and get the job done. Also, he’s rather profane.

He makes it pretty clear to Liev Shreiber’s character in this clip that there is nothing that he wants more right now than answers, not just when it comes to his own whereabouts, but also his father Mickey. The moment that Ray says “you don’t want to know” in response to this inquiry, you know that things are going to start getting interesting almost right away.

Given that you did get an actor like Azaria on board the show for this part, the one thing that we can definitely expect for you to watch out for now is simply this guy not going anywhere in the near future. You’ll be seeing a whole lot more of Hank before things wind down.
