ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4: The biggest thing Kerry Washington wants to know

Production will be starting up on “Scandal” season 4 in the not-too-distance future, which means for many of the cast members that they will finally get a chance to have those elusive answers to some of their questions.

One of the obvious things that everyone wants an answer to is simple: Where in the world is that plane going to land? This is something that Kerry Washington joked that she was desperate to know in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, and in a chat with USA Today about her Emmy nomination she reaffirmed that she is still trying to figure out what is going to happen to her character:

“We don’t have a script yet. I don’t even know if that plane is going to Turks and Caicos or maybe it had engine trouble and is in right back in D.C. I don’t know where she’s going. It’s pretty crazy. You cant thrive with this material unless you’re willing to embrace the unknown. I’m type A, hyper prepared – it challenges me to surrender to these writers.”

There will be some more time for Washington and the rest of the cast to prepare themselves, but that moment has not arrived just yet. It’ll be here more when we get close to the end of the month.

In addition to what happens to Olivia and Jake on that plane, there are also a variety of other mysteries that need to be resolved, including the fate of Rowan, whether or not Fitz and Mellie can recover from their latest challenge, and what happens to OPA with Olivia away from the job. We already know that Columbus Short is not returning, which does ensure at least an ending to the Harrison plotline.
