‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Kit Harrington, Natalie Dormer, more to grace Comic-Con

Game of Thrones -While many shows tend to bring the entirety of their cast to San Diego Comic-Con, “Game of Thrones” is a little bit different for a variety of reasons. For one, the show has a cast so enormous that there is really no way that they can fit them up in a line on the stage. Also, there are so many that are filming in July that they cannot possibly bring everyone over.

According to the schedule released on Friday for the convention, the cast members who are officially on board this year are Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Natalie Dormer (Margaery), Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Rose Leslie (Ygritte), Rory McCann (The Hound) Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell), Sophie Turner (Sansa), and Maisie Williams (Arya). It’s an interesting mix of people for a number of reasons, and it makes us certainly believe that this panel will be more about remembering season 4 than it is about promoting anything in particular for season 5. After all, you’ve got two characters in here in Oberyn and Ygritte who are for usre dead, and then another in The Hound who probably is, as well.

In the end, we’re all right with that, given that the cast wasn’t going to spill many secrets anyway. This panel is mean more as a way to reflect and have some fun with the show, and hear some cool stories about what it was like filming throughout so many different places in the world.

Some of the biggest omissions that we can think of here include Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Emilia Clarke (Dany), and Lena Headey (Cersei), who just received an Emmy nomination for her role.

This panel will of course be in the enormous Hall H, and will take place on Friday, July 25 from 1:40 p.m. until 2:40 p.m. We’ll have some more updates soon, and you can read some more scoop on “Game of Thrones” right now at this link.
