‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: When will filming begin?

The future -This week, you have likely started to notice that some of your favorite shows are starting to return to work, with filming beginning for the next seasons.

So when is this very thing going to be happening for “Grey’s Anatomy“? Despite airing 24 episodes a year and also having some of the longest, most-grueling days out of any series out there, you are still going to be waiting for a little while longer before the doctors are in.

As of right now, we’re hearing that around July 25 is when filming is going to begin. The first clue about this was just a tweet from Camilla Luddington (Jo) a little earlier this month, and while these sort of things can change, this is a time that makes a little bit of sense. While this show does have long days, many of the actors have been at this for so long they can accomplish a whole lot more in a single day of filming than other shows can in two or three.

All we can say about the season in general right now is that most of the actors better be prepared to bring your A-game, since there is going to be a ton of crazy stuff that unfolds. Meredith and Derek in particular are going to have one of their hardest seasons to date, and there will also be some intense stuff that happens for Luddington’s Jo as she and Alex try to move forward with their own relationship. They’ve been together now, after all, for a long enough time that you really do have to start thinking about the future a little bit.

When “Grey’s Anatomy” does return to TV this fall, it will be at a new time at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. You can see one of the first promos at the link here, and sign up if you are interested enough in getting some more big news from us via our newsletter.
