‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 3 preview: ‘Force Majeure,’ and acid rain
If “Under the Dome” was not entitled “Under the Dome,” the title of next week’s episode would also serve almost perfectly: “Force Majeure.” The phrase basically means things that happen that are really outside of the control of anyone, and a giant dome falling on Chester’s Mill certainly qualifies for that.
There is of course so much within this episode coming up that qualifies as an unavoidable circumstance, and nothing screams that more than “acid rain.” Really, to us that screams more than anything that the people of this town just cannot win. Right when you think that there is some potential relief coming in their direction, fate comes and spits in their face. (In this case, they spit acid.)
Before you do anything else, take a look at the synopsis below:
“When tensions in Chester’s Mill continue to rise as resources dwindle, Big Jim holds a census in order to forecast how long the town can continue to exist under the dire conditions. Meanwhile, a rainstorm brings much-needed water until it changes to acid rain, threatening the lives of everyone it touches. Also, Rebecca and Lyle butt heads over the reasons for the dome’s existence.”
The promo below is a little more in-depth, but also plenty weird and shocking. How in the world can the dome affect someone’s baby? We don’t even know why we are bothering to ask that question, given that the dome seems to operate with a serious god complex. Basically, almost everyone who starts to come in its path is screwed.
