‘Glee’ season 6 spoilers: Naya Rivera will return … with a reported status change
For all of you Naya Rivera fans wondering whether or not the actress would return as Santana for the final season of “Glee,” here is some good news: She’ll be back. However, it is in a different capacity than how she appeared in each of the first five seasons.
According to a new report from TVLine, Rivera asked to be placed on the show as a recurring guest star rather than a regular for season 6. This means that she will have a little more flexibility when it comes to whether or not she can do some other jobs. It’s still an interesting move, given that “Glee” is probably not getting a 22-episode final season in the first place. The reality is that the sixth-season order will most likely be between 10 and 13, and with the show airing either at midseason or in the late spring. The ratings at this point are pretty terrible, and we figure that Fox would not have brought the show back at all had they not committed previously do having a sixth season.
As for who all is returning among the original cast for the final season, Chris Colfer (despite those pesky rumors) and Lea Michele are both locks. Ryan Murphy has already said that all of the original regulars are invited back, so it may just be a matter of scheduling when it comes to getting everyone on board. The season is meant to be a return to the show’s roots, which were all about music education in a small town.
What do you think: Are you glad to see Naya returning to “Glee,” even if it is in a somewhat smaller role than in the past? I can’t believe that Ryan Murphy would not bring the “Britana” relationship to a satisfactory conclusion. It sounds like everybody is forgetting just why they became so popular. If Naya and Heather want to go back to being backup dancer and commercial queens that’s their business but Ryan Murphy, I think, owes the fans more.

Naya must have her reasons for asking to be down graded on Glees final season, but it feels like a betrayal to we gleek fans. Glee made her famous so one would think she would be grateful to her fans & Glee & remain a full cast member for its final season. If there were going to be a full 22 episodes, I’d understand why she wants to leave. But w/only 10 – 13, new episodes at best, you’d think it couldn’t be too difficult for ger to hang In for the short duration that’s left of Glee. Sounds like she doesn’t give a crap about the very same people (we fabs), much less than the show that made her famous. Very disappointing!
she sure doesn’t seem to care about her fans

Great, now I can stop watching that stupid show and only catch Naya’s performances when she tapes.
