‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: More on Andi Dorfman, Eric Hill’s death, and ‘raw’ moments

Andi -We’re already going to put it out there into the universe that Monday night’s episode of “The Bachelorette” is probably going to be the most emotional one of the season. It’ll be hard for Andi Dorfman and the men going through it, but it will also be hard for us as viewers. Can we really separate real life from a silly TV show? Beyond this episode, the weird thing about this season is that it almost tries to make you in order to full enjoy the experience. It’s not doing so in a malicious manner by any sense, but this is still a show about love. They cannot deviate from their pre-established premise entirely.

As show host Chris Harrison put on Twitter today, tonight’s episode is “an incredibly emotional raw #Thebachelorette tonight you won’t want to miss.” As you likely know, Eric Hill died in the middle of production, and he had to be the one to break the news to everyone.

The hard thing about this particular installment is how in the world you even want to promote it. It’s a duty you have with the show to promote it, though you are basically saying in this particular instance “come watch us be sad.” There are going to be some romantic moments throughout the hometown dates (which you can read more about here), but we wonder how much these will even be remembered by the time the episode reaches its end.

With all of this being said, we don’t feel like the show is bringing Eric’s death into it for ratings. They did the right thin in breaking the news to the group, and it would have a big impact on them. While they only knew him a tiny fraction of his life, being on a reality show with someone can feel like you’ve known them for years. There are no phones, no outside communication, and you’re forced to spend time with other people. The only thing that we currently question is the decision to break the news to the group on-camera.

We’ll be back later with our full contestant rankings, so be on the lookout for that. Also, you can sign up now if you’re interested in some further TV scoop via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
