‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 2 preview: Like ‘True Detective,’ but not
Just in case you ever wanted to see “Under the Dome” as a cop show, the sneak peek below for Monday night’s new episode is a prime opportunity is going to give you an opportunity to do just that. Think of it as “True Detective,” minus the sculptures out of beer cans or Matthew McConaughey, and where the Yellow King is actually a giant dome of mysterious origin.
The two starts of this video are Barbie (Mike Vogel) and Big Jim (Dean Norris), who are struggling to piece together who may be behind the latest death in Chester’s Mill. The only suspects that the two of them seemingly (with this being the operating word) have ruled out are each other. You know that this is going to get way more complicated before it is over. Also, what is the over / under for these two characters being able to be in the same room together?
One other crazy thing to remember about this episode in particular is that it is just the second episode of the entire season. If things are this crazy right now, imagine just how crazy they will be right around the time we are at the finale? That may be at head-explosion levels, at least if the quality stays consistent throughout without some of the dips that we had the first time around. The show certainly needs it this time around; while the ratings for the premiere this past week were solid, they were not so great that the show can handle a mass viewer exodus during the season.
