‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: How the unknown can be rewarding
With this knowledge in mind, one actor in particular is definitely ready to make the leap into the great unknown. Speaking to a news site in Australia in promotion of his new movie “Cavalry,” Aiden Gillen (Littlefinger) explained that there is great joy in the unknown:
“It’s an adventure everyone is on — the audience, the cast. Not knowing where it’s going, that’s good. People playing end games could work … but if you don’t know what the end game is, maybe you won’t play the obvious thing.”
As of right now, the only person that we can say for certain knows the end of the story is George R.R. Martin himself. Supposedly, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have more knowledge than the rest of the world about the end of the series courtesy of conversations with Martin, but there’s a difference between receiving stories secondhand and being the guy who actually has all of them in his his brain already.
Given the popularity of “Game of Thrones” now versus when A Dance with Dragons was released, we can only imagine the furor that is going to come with the next book hitting shelves.
