‘Big Brother 16’ live feed spoilers: In which we give praise to Derrick

What is it about cops being good reality TV players right now? It wasn’t always the case that they fared well, but first we had Tony on “Survivor,” and now seemingly Derrick on “Big Brother.”

It’s a little early for us to be able to call him here the frontrunner, but out of most of the people in the Bomb Squad, he is one of the few with a real understanding of what is going on. He managed to get Brittany overnight to admit to a deal she made to try and get herself off of the block, and he did it in a way that was not conniving or cutthroat. Without anyone knowing he is a cop, he is using all of his interrogation skills extremely effectively.

Derrick is also one of many behind what we feel is a very great plan if it actually comes to fruition: Let Devin Veto off Brittany and put up Victoria, and then get rid of Paola, since it is still getting at Devin without really evicting him from the game. The Bomb Squad is basically dead at this point, given that Zach wants to expose it to everyone and all of its members want Devin out, so it doesn’t feel like there is any reason to delay things for now.

In addition to Derrick, the other people we would hand some kudos to right now are Christine and Donny. The latter has managed to make himself so likable that nobody wants to nominate him, and that is a valuable thing early in the game. (Granted, they will all target him the moment jury starts because he’s a huge threat to win the game.)
