‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: More on Nick Viall, Andi Dorfman’s big hometown date
If there was ever an opportunity to see a different side of Nick Viall on “The Bachelorette,” it would be on the hometown dates that are coming up Monday night. He will be surrounded by loved ones, and this is a chance to prove that he is not nearly as competitive or aloof in his everyday life as he comes across on the show.
Of course, given that the date is in Milwaukee, the show is going to go the extremely obvious route and have the two tour a brewery. Who wants to guess if this was actually Andi’s idea of a date or not? The rest of this, based on the ABC synopsis below, sounds much more interesting and worthy of discussion:
“Andi starts her hometown visits in Milwaukee where Nick, who has been one of her favorites since the first night, treats her to a true taste of the city, complete with a tour of a brewery, sipping a special beer named after the couple and some energetic polka dancing. But the real test will be when Andi is introduced to Nick’s very large family – all 17 of them. Nick is so devoted to his parents and 10 siblings that he is intent on getting their approval before he tells Andi he loves her and wants to spend a lifetime with her. She is even grilled by Nick’s nine-year-old sister. Will Andi be able to secure the approval of all these family members?”
Big families in the past have not necessarily been turn-offs to the leading men and women on this show; the issue is more running into people who are not that accepting of them or the process. Even still, we feel like the only two recent examples we can think of when it comes to a hometown date sinking a relationship are Kacie Boguskiw and Ben Flajnik and Sean Lowe and Desiree Hartsock. Otherwise, most seem to go off at least without too many problems (which is saying something, since the families have to feel in a way like chopped liver given that they are only one of four being visited).
