‘Talking Dead’: Chris Hardwick shows the evolution of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick

Talking Dead -What better way to celebrate the weekend of the Fourth of July than with … zombies? Yes, it is completely strange, but this is what AMC is going with.

In the latest sneak peek below from the “Dead, White, and Blue” marathon, you can see “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick go behind the scenes with costume designer Eulyn Womble (while wearing Rick’s season 1 costume, no less) to give us some further insight into Andrew Lincoln’s famous character, including how his clothing has evolved and changed over the past four years. We know that there are some out there who can care less about Rick’s “Walking Dead” attire, but we do find this sort of stuff rather interesting to see what thought is put into such things. With a zombie show in particular, there is probably a temptation to just leave everyone in the same clothes all the time; but, the reality here is that these people become scavengers. While nobody really wants to pick the clothes off of a dead guy, in the end this may be a far easier thing to do than having to continue to wear what is on your back.

This video does also give you a quick look at Rick’s new garb for season 5, which is a nice little departure for him from everything that we have seen him sport so far. The only real question that we have for the time being is whether or not this outfit would get a little hot, given that this show is set in Atlanta, and they are not exactly known for their forgiving temperatures.

In case you missed it, there is another AMC video over at this link that features Hardwick with newcomer Andrew J. West. This clip is directly a tease for the “Talking Dead” special, which airs at 9:00 p.m. Eastern before “Halt and Catch Fire.”
