‘Community’ season 6: Who do we want to see before series finale?

Earlier this week, “Community” fans had a reason to celebrate courtesy of the news that there is going to be a sixth season over on Yahoo, and there’s no longer a reason to sit around worrying that we will never see the Greendale gang again.

However, we are worried about that when it comes to some of the characters below. We’ve come up with a list of six people who we feel the show would be incomplete without seeing again in some form. There is at least one name below we feel is almost a lock to return; meanwhile, others are up in the air.

There are three names in particular that we left out of here for specific reasons. With Pierce, we feel like he’s already had a send-off and with the character dead, there is no reason to bring him back anyway. As for Leonard, he has been in so many episodes that it feels like a lock he’ll return and it’s not even worth discussion. With Dino Stamatopoulos back on board the writing staff, we also feel like a Star-Burns return is assured.

1. Troy Barnes (Donald Glover) – This one goes without saying. Troy is a beloved character for the show, and also one that that would not abandon the study group / Save Greendale Committee forever. We know he’s busy with Childish Gambino, but one more appearance would help us get over his absence.

2. Ian Duncan (John Oliver) – He may be busy with his HBO show, but we feel like there was some unresolved story for the Professor after his arc during season 5. He could do an episode during a hiatus week for “Last Week Tonight,” and that is all it would take for us to be happy.

3. Rachel (Brie Larson) – Brie is selective of her roles, so the fact that she agreed to be on “Community” in the first place is exciting. Rachel proved to be a great foil for Abed and someone who actually had a romantic connection with him. We want to see where this goes.

4. Professor Hickey (Jonathan Banks) – Like some of the other people here, Banks is now limited thanks to “Better Call Saul.” It won’t bee too hard to write out Hickey from parts of the show, but we still want to see him around the Greendale universe.

5. Andre (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) – It still feels like Shirley and her ex are going to come back together in the end, but she is the one who has to do the work now to get him back. The tables have turned!

6. Magnitude (Luke Youngblood) – Pop, pop. Need we say more?
