NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 3 spoilers: Hugh Dancy speculates on Bidelia’s motives
“Hannibal” certainly did a great job with its cliffhanger at the end of season 2; after all, it is more than a month removed from it now, and we are still sitting around and wondering what in the world Bidelia was doing on board that plane with Dr. Lecter. This is a surefire sign that things are going to be fascinating in the early going next season, and it’s somewhat of a relief to see that nobody is more excited for all of this right now than one of the guys at the center of it all in Hugh Dancy.
Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, the man behind Will Graham (who really should be given an Emmy nomination this year) made it clear that he wants to see more of Gillian Anderson just as all of us do moving forward. Not only that, but he was game to do a little bit of speculating in the process:
“As far as anybody could tell, [Bedelia] had vanished off the face of the planet. So, it would be interesting to understand [who she and Hannibal came together and] what their history is … Hannibal has this M.O. of taking people and guiding them toward their worse, or as he might see it, better selves. And by and large, they go off and do terrible things and they die. But both with Will and now, Bedelia, [Hannibal] has done that, but also taken much more interest in them.”
Expect to see a third season moving forward that is stuffed full of all sorts of jet-setting, as Will and the rest of the BAU are going to need to do their part to track down Hannibal, and see just what they can do with him when he is found. This is not a guy who strikes us as wanting to go quietly.
