‘The Bridge’ season 2: See new photos of Diane Kruger, Demian Bichir
“The Bridge” season 2 is going to be premiering on FX on Wednesday, July 9, but you don’t have to wait any longer to at least get some of the first photos of the two major characters, either if neither one of them is particularly revealing.
We start here with Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger), a woman who we learned quite a bit about throughout the first season. She has Asperger’s syndrome, and fails to be able to emotionally cope with situations or people much of the time. When you combine this with a traumatic past, you have a woman who is extremely layered. Hopefully, we will have some more chances to get to the bottom of who she is throughout the second season.
As for Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir), our primary hope here is mostly that he doesn’t find a way to mess any investigations up with his philandering thanks to what we saw last time. He was basically the catalyst for a series of terrible things, and like with Sonya at this point, he also has a reason to grieve after losing his son Gus.
Not much is known right now about where the second season will go in terms of story, but earlier suspicions are that things are going in a more psychological direction rather than one strictly pertaining to crime. With there being so many other cop / mystery shows out there, it is probably a good thing that they continue to try and differentiate themselves. The first season of the show was pretty outstanding, but it suffered mostly thanks to the competition in the genre.
