‘Glee’ season 6: What actor has landed a new movie role?
What is still being figured out is just who will be appearing, and also who will be sitting it out or doing other things. Showrunner Ryan Murphy has promised that all of the original stars have been invited back, which means possible opportunities for such people as Dianna Agron, Lea Michele, Heather Morris, Mark Salling, and many more. This does not answer the question about people like Max Adler, Ashley Fink, Blake Jenner, or Melissa Benoist, who were at one point or another a significant part of the story.
What we can at least tell you right now that one of these “are they returning or not?” actors has landed a significant movie role elsewhere. According to a new report from Deadline, Benoist has landed a role in “The Longest Ride.” This is a Fox 2000 production that focuses on a young couple (Britt Robinson and Scott Eastwood) who have a love story that bears many similarities and is told alongside an older man and his own possible love of his life. This is a Nicholas Sparks project, so you can expect plenty of emotional moments. As for what role Benoist will play, she will take on the part of Marcia, a roommate to one of the main characters.
Before “Glee,” Benoist’s most high-profile appearance was on Showtime’s “Homeland.” We would like to see most of the “season 4 McKinley crew” for at least one episode of the final season, just to get some sort of resolution on their stories. We know that many want the original students to be the focus and we agree with that, but even just 10-15 minutes so that the time we spent with Marley, Jake, and the others was justified would be nice.
We’ll have some more “Glee” updates soon, but for now click here to get more on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.

Someone else who has landed “a significant role” elsewhere is Chris Colfer, who has the lead in the Noël Coward biopic that is tentatively filming in “late summer”. THAT news is of more concern to me, since Glee is supposedly going to film in July. I’m still hanging on ONLY for Chris Colfer’s Kurt Hummel after s3’s graduation & the disaster that was s4. I’d wait 42 min for 2 lines by Kurt & maybe 5 by Lea Michele’s Rachel. I started watching Glee after seeing Kurt Hummel at the dumpsters w the jocks in the Glee pilot and stayed only in hopes of seeing Kurt/Colfer. S4 tried to rectify its horrible mistake, but had already lost far too many viewers after the personality transplants that some characters had, along with the consistency breakdowns. Now, if Glee starts filming and Colfer is occupied in the UK filming a project like this, meaning Kurt is gone during the last 10-13 episodes of the series, I’ll count the s5 finale as THE Glee finale and will drop out.

Agree!!! AGREE!!! and AGREEEEEE!
Ryan Murphy is a freaking Genius! Did you see Normal Heart? MY GOD!
But Ryan, please read what your fans are telling you about Glee! We cant stand S4 or S5. Please.. Rachel’s character was just..my god…
And they never, ever focus’d on the dreams of “Kurt” (who also dreamed as BIG as “Rachel)
If the leaks are true and they just continue down Rachel’s character… man, what a way to ruin a show that had SO MUCH more to give the world!

lol it’s not a question of what about the newer kids showing up, Ryan Murphy has said in many interviews that at least Ryder, Unique, Jake and Marley would pop up to give us an idea of what their lives are like.
