‘The Last Ship’ episode 2 preview: Patient Zero, and a look ahead
Still, we already feel like this show has more potential than many of the films Bay has done lately. For one, there are a variety of people involved here who are embracing the series format; sometimes his films feel way too packed with action, and the story barely even seeps in. With ten hours to work with here, there is a much greater opportunity to get to know the people in the midst of all the fighting.
What is also impressive from a production standpoint is simply however the show managed to create all of these magnificent scenes with whatever budget that they had in order to make this show work. It really could not have been that expensive given most TV shows aren’t compared to movies, but this really does look like a big-budget blockbuster. Master congratulations have to be sent out to all parties for this one.
Now, we have to hope that the rest of the season can manage to live up to the expectations, and the hopes and dreams that we have that this could be the post-Apocalyptic ship drama we demand. (Before now, we never even knew that we needed one.)
