‘Masters of Sex’ season 2 trailer: Lizzy Caplin, Martin Sheen, and plenty of intensity

The second season of “Masters of Sex” is where business meets personal, and it is also where things between Virginia and Dr. Masters are going to be taken to another level.

As it was teased recently, the new season is almost going to begin with the two parties hooking up … but away from the study for a change. This is going to cause problems, especially since there isn’t even a place for the study to take place in the opening episode. The hospital did not want to occupy the sex study anymore, and anywhere new he goes he is going to desperately want Virginia with him.

Unfortunately for Dr. Masters, what he will soon realize is that there is an enormous difference between having a study that nobody can really see, and then having an affair with someone in a non-workplace setting. It’s a whole lot harder to keep secret, and you get plenty more reminders in the trailer that wife Libby is onto something. The unfortunate thing is that she’s stuck between a rock and a hard place. The two have a child together, he is a primary breadwinner (or at least he was), and in that era it was not so easy to leave a relationship. Some wives chose to put up with philandering, mostly because they had no real way out.

Martin Sheen and Lizzy Caplan are both fantastic in this trailer, and thanks to that, we are beyond excited for what lies ahead. We feel bad for Libby already, mostly because everyone who has read a history book (or at least Wikipedia) knows where this story is going to eventually go.
