‘True Blood’ season 7, episode 2 video: Ryan Kwanten’s Jason and ‘pizza forensics’
Can we propose a “True Blood” spin-off starring Ryan Kwanten, where every episode Jason Stackhouse uses his bizarre street-smarts to solve cases? After watching the sneak peek below for Sunday night’s new episode, we’d be all for it.
We don’t want to give away any more about this clip than we did in the title, but let’s just say that this may be the funniest sneak peek that HBO has ever released as Jason, Andy, Sookie, and Alcide are all working together to solve a case of vampire attacks. All of them are equally invested in figuring this out; they’ve been burned by vampires in some shape or form already, and want to get them out of their lives as much as possible.
Granted, the irony in saying this is that Sookie still finds herself inexplicably drawn to those with a set of fangs. How else do you explain the other sneak peek for this episode, which features her character paying a visit to none other than Bill Compton?
All we can really say for now is that we are hoping that this show manages to create some other sort of nefarious villain character for itself before all this is over. H-Vamps may be scary, but they are not particularly compelling when it comes to the overall threat level. It is always so much easier to hate something when you can attach a face and a name to it. (Luckily, the rumor mill suggests that a mysterious character coming up at some point this season named “Mr. Gus” could be what we’re waiting for.)
What do you think about this sneak peek? Share some of your thoughts with a comment.

I think the bad guy this year is the man who ran agains Sam for Mayor and lost. He seems to be stirring up trouble a lot in episode 1.
