‘Under the Dome’ season 2 spoilers: Big Jim the census man

WhatThere are a number of stories in relation to “Under the Dome” that we suspected would come up eventually, mostly because there are so many sort of things you would assume a town under dire circumstances to do. Getting a sense of the entire population is one of them.

When is this going to happen? Think along the lines of the third episode of the season airing on July 14, which goes by the title of “Force Majeure.” For many, we imagine that what may be just as significant as the fact that this is happening is strictly that Big Jim is the one pulling the strings on it.

For more on that, just take a look at the CBS synopsis below:

“When tensions in Chester’s Mill continue to rise as resources dwindle, Big Jim holds a census in order to forecast how long the town can continue to exist under the dire conditions. Meanwhile, a rainstorm brings much-needed water until it changes to acid rain, threatening the lives of everyone it touches. Also, Rebecca and Lyle butt heads over the reasons for the dome’s existence.”

Here is what we personally find to be very fascinating about this idea. Shows like “Under the Dome” get so much added attention thanks mostly to the fact that they are able to bring in a variety of guest stars. If the census is done in the town, who else can show up? Are you going to reveal a secret legion of mole people in season 3? It seems to be rather necessary to have a census, but it could limit the logic of future twists.

As for acid rain, this seems like only the sort of storyline that this sort of perpetual-disster town would have.

We’re going to have so much more “Under the Dome” news coming before the premiere, so be on the lookout for that. Also, you can sign up today to grab additional updates on everything we cover now via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
