ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4: Kerry Washington and a new … fashion line?

Take a look -There have been TV-inspired products that have been released over the years, but we somehow still have to say that clothing inspired by Olivia Pope and “Scandal” is still somewhere near the top of the list as far as surprising goes. Do you want clothing that makes you so stressed out that it makes you want to travel across the world with a man running a government organization? If so, these coats and white hats are for you!

The show has, per WWD, teamed up with The Limited to offer an affordable line of clothing, including jackets, tops, and pants, that are inspired by Olivia’s world. Will this clothing all be white? We kid, but someone probably thought about it the moment it was brought up.

Kerry Washington is clearly in the act when it comes to promoting it, at least given that she issued a statement to the publication about the line:

“People who love the look of the show can now step into this world in a way that is affordable and accessible because not everybody can afford to have the clothes they see on the show.”

Personally, we feel like TV marketing can sometimes be a little shameless, but this is a brilliant move on the part of ABC and the studio to put a line of clothing out there. We know that there are many who look up to Olivia, and even obsess over some of the Gladiators’ fashion sense. Giving an affordable option to people who dress like a TV star is huge, especially when you have this sort of promotional platform with huge numbers in the 18-49 demographic.

This has been a big summer for “Scandal,” even though the show is not filming yet. Bellamy Young won a Critics’ Choice Award, and the show remains one of the most-discussed on social media even though nobody knows what will happen next.
