‘MasterChef’ season 5, episode 5 review: Leslie gets a little loopy

MasterChef -On tonight’s all-new episode of “MasterChef” was certainly an entertaining one … especially when it comes to the drama.

We have to start here first and foremost with Leslie, who was a complete madman for most of the hour. As Team Captain, he went insane, couldn’t control anyone, and basically ended up losing his entire team. He made most of his team hate him, and then proceeded to talk about respect and other things a cranky old guy would do on little sleep. We don’t want Leslie to win, but we want him to stay for a while just to keep things interesting.

Now, we start to discuss the lament of Jordan. We feel bad for the kid, since he seems to be a very nice guy who really likes cooking, and everyone likes him. But, he’s still only 19 years old, the second youngest in the competition. He’s just not ready for prime time, and this is why we feel okay with him leaving the show tonight in the pressure test over Leslie and non-Scottish Francis.

Now, some other random odds and ends from this episode:

  • Who in the world wants Gordon Ramsay shouting at their wedding?
  • We felt at moments for Ahran, though we feel that her argument with Leslie was basically a case where they were both in the wrong. He was rude, then she was rude, then he was rude again.
  • The way that Graham Elliot told Leslie to “join his friends on the balcony” after the pressure test was hysterical. Nobody was congratulating him at all.
  • Francis B. still could go far in this competition, despite these stumbles.
