‘Enlisted’ finale preview: The Regimental Ball has a special ‘guest’

Tonight marks the big finale for “Enlisted,” this season’s version of the Little Show That Could. Even though it was thrown around on the schedule like a rag doll, it’s hilariously funny and we’re going to miss it if tonight does mark the end of the road. The fans have also mostly stuck with it since its move to Sundays; its 18-49 demo rating has been consistent week-to-week, even though 7:00 p.m. Eastern time is not the easiest timeslot to work with during the summer.

The story of the finale is one that we have really been waiting to see for weeks now: Some sort of military ball. This one is going to have a special guest being “honored” at it, and of course at least one of the soldiers who is going to try their best to ensure that a celebrity ends up attending with them. It’s all very funny stuff made funnier by Cody’s self-importance when talking about the special guest.

Of course, in true “Enlisted” fashion there is still another twist coming that is going to make this ball not turn out as you would think. You can find out a little more about that in the sneak-peek videos below.

We’ll be on hand one more time tonight to review the finale, and while we are doing it with the expectation that this will be the last episode of the show, we’ll still hold out hope in the corner of our brain that maybe we will see more of these characters someday. There still are so many other fun subjects that could be covered in this setting, and it’d be a shame to not see some of those play out. Maybe there will be another network or streaming service out there that believes in the concept as much as we and the other passionate viewers of the show do.
