‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5, episode 3 preview: Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, and school strategy

There is something almost jarring in seeing the cast of “Pretty Little Liars” still in high school, if for no other reason than that they have been there longer on this show than real high schoolers are. (To think, we’re not even to the second half of senior year just yet.) It has to be even stranger for Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, and Troian Bellisario to play as they get older.

The new sneak peek below from Tuesday night’s “Surfing the Aftershocks” is a particularly interesting and memorable one, mostly when it comes to seeing how the ladies all choose to handle what is the latest round of scrutiny that is being thrown at them. As Principal Hackett informs them, he wants to try to make sure that they are protected within the walls of Rosewood High. There will be measures taken to ensure that they are free of the media distractions while they study.

However, at the same time he issues to the ladies a request that they also need to try to not make themselves into a story to the best of their ability. That means no public hoopla or shenanigans to bait the media, and turn the school into a circus. Given how trouble seems to follow this gang almost to every twist and turn, we have a feeling that this is going to be a little bit more difficult for them to pull off. Maybe they will be able to do this without a problem for a couple of weeks, but we imagine it being a whole lot harder when these weeks inevitably start to turn into months.
